Instructions for use: NEWBORN BABY MOVER ® by Baby-Mover B.V.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THIS GUIDE CAREFULLY AND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

WARNING:

• You may lose your balance due to your own movements and those of the child
• Take care when bending down or leaning forward
  Do not use the baby carrier during sporting activities.

Intended use:

The NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is a professional evacuation sling designed to transport babies (up to a maximum of 3 babies, each weighing up to 5 kg) out of buildings and other structures in the event of a fire or other emergencies. The NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is not suitable for, nor intended for, any purpose other than that specified above!

Instructions for use

A. Before use:

• Remove the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® from its packaging and hang it in a designated place so that, in the event of an emergency, the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is quickly and easily accessible.
• Protect the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® from damp, heat and strong sunlight, and ensure the baby carriers are not subjected to constant strain; this will extend their lifespan!
• Keep the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® out of reach of children and pets.
• Baby-Mover B.V. accepts no liability for damage resulting from the improper use of the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® or the use of the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.
• As the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is used every month during exercises, it will start to show some wear and tear after a few years. You should therefore check the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® regularly for any defects or excessive wear and tear.
• Report any faults to Baby-Mover B.V. immediately and never attempt to repair them yourself!
• Practise (if possible) the scenario under B at least once a month.

B. In the event that transport is required:

• First, put on the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® and then place the babies in the baby carriers; ensure the babies’ weight is distributed evenly across the carriers
• Always place a baby horizontally with their head on the side of the black muslin. Turn the baby’s face towards the open-weave muslin (black fabric) in a baby carrier from the
• NEWBORN BABY MOVER®.
  Fasten the baby carrier using the clip fastening. Adjust it to be tighter or looser as required.
• The NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is made from fire-resistant material. Therefore, ensure that nothing is placed on or attached to the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® or inside the NEWBORN BABY MOVER®’s carry pouches.
• MOVER® contains no, or at least as little as possible, flammable material.
• Keep an eye on the children whilst travelling
• Do not consume hot drinks or food whilst holding children.

Baby-Mover B.V. guarantees the proper functioning of the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® and the soundness of the materials used for a period of five years from the date of sale. The NEWBORN BABY MOVER® is manufactured with great care; both the materials and the construction have been extensively tested for their soundness and suitability. The warranty applies only if the above instructions have been followed. In the event of a defect, Baby-Mover B.V. is entitled to repair the NEWBORN BABY MOVER®, replace it with another unit or refund the purchase price, at Baby-Mover B.V.’s discretion. Complaints regarding defects must be reported in writing to Baby-Mover B.V. within 5 working days of their discovery, and the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® in question must be sent to Baby-Mover B.V.The warranty will be void in the event of improper or unauthorised use! The warranty will also be void if modifications or repairs have been carried out on the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® by parties other than Baby-Mover B.V.

Liability

Baby-Mover B.V. accepts no liability for damage resulting from the improper use of the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® or the use of the NEWBORN BABY MOVER® for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.

Baby-Mover B.V. accepts no liability for visible defects that have not been reported to it in good time.

Appendix A: Storage conditions

Temperature

• Permitted storage temperature: +5 °C to +30 °C
• Short-term exposure (≤ 24 hours): 0 °C to +40 °C
• Do not store below 0 °C
• Do not store above 40 °C

Prolonged exposure to high temperatures may reduce the tensile strength of the fabric and stitching. Temperatures below freezing may reduce the flexibility of the material.

Relative humidity

• Recommended storage humidity: 30%–70% RH (non-condensing)
• Avoid prolonged exposure to humidity levels above 80% RH

High humidity can promote mould growth and material degradation.

Protection against sunlight and UV radiation

• Store away from direct sunlight
• Avoid prolonged exposure to artificial UV sources
• Store the product in a closed cupboard or opaque packaging

Exposure to UV radiation can weaken textile fibres and stitching

Protection against chemicals

Do not store near:

• Cleaning products
• Moistening with disinfectants
• Solvents
• Chlorine-based products
• Oxidising agents

Mechanical protection during storage

• Store flat or loosely folded
• Do not place heavy equipment on the product
• Do not store on the floor

Mechanical stress during storage can weaken seams and stitching

Shelf life

The product must not be used after the specified service life has expired
An annual inspection is recommended to ensure the product remains in good working order.

 

Appendix B: Transport conditions

Transport refers to movement within the nursery, hospital or other institution

General transport requirements

During transport, the aid must be protected against:

• Extreme temperatures
• Excessive humidity
• Direct sunlight
• Mechanical stress
• Contamination
• Rough handling

Internal transport

• Transport the aid in a protective bag or a sturdy container
• Do not wear it loose without protection
• Do not place it near heat sources whilst on the move
• Avoid prolonged exposure in corridors where there is direct sunlight.

External transport

For external transport:

• Maintain a temperature between 0 °C and +40 °C
• Protect from moisture
• Protect against UV radiation
• Use protective packaging
• Avoid crushing during transport

If transport takes longer than 24 hours, the storage temperature limits apply.

Packaging requirements

For external transport:

• Use sealed protective packaging
• Ensure protection against moisture ingress
• Use shock-absorbing material to prevent strain on seams and stitching
• Do not use vacuum compression packaging

Inspection after transport

Following external transport or suspected exposure to adverse environmental conditions, the device must be checked for:

• Frayed stitching
• Loose seams
• Thinning fabric
• Discolouration or UV fading
• Damp or mould
• Fragility of the material

If a fault is detected, the device must not be used.

Deviation from storage or transport conditions

If the resource has been exposed to:

• Temperatures above 40 °C
• Temperatures below 0 °C
• High humidity (>80% RH for prolonged periods)
• Direct sunlight for a prolonged period
• Exposure to water
• Mechanical stress

The aid must be inspected before use.
If damage or material degradation is suspected, the device must be taken out of service.
